Office Pro Plus Without OneNote 2016 in the Future
Already in April last year Microsoft announced the further development of the desktop version of OneNote to be finished, in order to focus instead on the Universal App for Windows 10. OneNote 2016 will thus remain the last version of the desktop version, which will be supported until 2025.
In its own Office 365 news center, the software group has now announced that OneNote 2016 will no longer be part of Office Pro Plus for Windows 10 in the "Semi Annual Channel" and will therefore no longer be installable from the portal. If you want to continue using OneNote 2016, you can download the software free of charge from Microsoft and use it without an Office 365 subscription. For companies that make software packages available centrally for installation, the desktop version can still be used.
