Office 365 Groups Supersede Yammer

This process will be finished until the end of this year. As of January 1, 2017 the standalone Yammer Enterprise plan will be no longer available. The existing Yammer customers are recommended to transition to an appropriate Office 365 plan.

The Yammer groups will be migrated into Office 365 groups. The familiar Yammer functions like group chat, group notes, group calendar, or file storage will be mapped with the Office 365 pendants Outlook, OneDrive, or OneNote. Furthermore, editing Office documents will be possible by using Office Online. Additionally, Yammer teams will be able to use their own team sites in Office 365 SharePoint Online for collaboration. Whether documents that have been stored in the Yammer group repository will be automatically migrated to OneDrive is not yet known.
