Microsoft Teams With New Features
Microsoft will provide new features for the Skype for Business successor, Microsoft Teams, which will improve the collaboration with other applications. According to Microsoft, users will be able to share content from other applications directly into a conversation in Microsoft Teams. This new integration is not only reserved for Microsoft's own office applications, but is also available for others, such as Trello or InVision. The usual practice for sharing information via link or screenshot is thus superfluous. The software company wants to extend this function even further, in order to share significantly more complex tasks in Microsoft Teams conversations in the future. It would be conceivable, for example, to start a build in Visual Studio directly from the news channel.
Microsoft Teams gets even more optimizations, for example concerning the search function and the command line. The search then offers additional options to search for applications: by name, by categories, or by integration type. And the command line supports so-called "slash commands", with which users can perform repetitive actions with higher performance.
Microsoft Teams is the latest addition to the Office 365 collaboration tools. Major component of Teams is a consistent, chat-based communication method that enables topic-based sharing and even 1:1 conversation through channels. Microsoft Teams supports audio and video conferencing and will more and more take over the functionality of Skype for Business.
