Microsoft Teams Presented
Microsoft now has officially presented the collaboration software Teams for Office 365 subscribers. As pointed out during an event in New York, on 1st November, Teams is a chat-based communication solution, that is showing not only the messages itself but also the complete flow of communication within a thread. The content will be visible for all members of the team, but it is also possible to start a private chat. Voice and video conferences between the team members have been realized by the integration of Skype into Microsoft Teams.
As expected, Microsoft Teams has also been deeply integrated with numerous other parts of the Microsoft Office 365 portfolio. In addition to the Microsoft Office applications, there are also SharePoint Online, Microsoft Planner, Power BI, and OneDrive for Business part of this communication solution. And Microsoft Graph is helping in the search for relevant Information.
By allocating open APIs, providing the same connector model as Office 365 groups, and supporting the Microsoft Bot Framework, Microsoft facilitates the customization and extension of the Teams software. Furthermore, we can read in the Microsoft Office blog, that Teams meets all the security standards, that are already in use by Office 365 customers. This includes EU Model Clauses as well as ISO 27001, SOC2 and HIPAA.
In 181 countries and in 18 languages, Microsoft Teams has been launched as a preview for customers with Office 365 Enterprise or Business plans. Microsoft Teams can be accessed via any compatible Internet browser or by using a mobile client, that can be downloaded for all common operating systems. The general availability of Microsoft Teams is expected for the first quarter of 2017.
