Microsoft Defender Announced for iOS and Android
In the future, Microsoft will offer Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) for mobile devices with iOS and Android also. The announcement was made on Microsoft's own security blog without going into specific technical details.
While Microsoft Defender was initially only available for Windows 10, the software company started offering the anti-malware program for other systems last year with a desktop version for MacOS.
In addition to the apps for iOS and Android, Microsoft is also developing a version of Defender Advanced Threat Protection for Linux. Further details are announced for the RSA Conference starting next week. What currently distinguishes all three applications is that they will only be available for corporate customers in enterprise environments; variants for private use are rather not to be expected.
