Microsoft 365 with new Offers in the Field of Security & Compliance
Microsoft has introduced two new licensing packages, primarily bundling existing security and compliance offerings for Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility and Security (EMS). With the "Identity & Threat Protection" and "Information Protection & Compliance" packages, Microsoft wants to provide better protection against new security threats. In addition, customers should be supported in the fulfillment of complex information protection requirements, such as the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
According to the software company, the "Identity & Threat Protection" package offers services for advanced protection against threats in Office 365, Windows 10 and EMS. It contains the security services Microsoft Cloud App Security, Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Thread Protection, consisting of Azure Advanced Threat Protection, Windows Defender Threat Protection and Office 365 Threat Protection with Threat Intelligence.
The “Information Protection & Compliance” license package combines Office 365 Advandced Compliance and Azure Information Protection. It is aimed more at companies that have their own compliance requirements for Microsoft Cloud Services, e.g. to automatically classify sensitive data and provide even better protection.
According to Microsoft, the “Information Protection & Compliance” package is offered for $ 10 per user per month and the “Identity & Threat Protection” package for $ 12 per user per month. Both packages will be available for sale from February 1, 2019. There will be no changes to the Microsoft 365 E5, all features from the two new license offerings will remain part of it.
