Guest Access for Microsoft Teams Available
Guest access is now available in Microsoft Teams, which is the chat-based collaboration solution included in Microsoft Office 365. As of now, mixed groups are possible that contain internal and external staff members, members from other organizations or partner companies. Previously, a membership in a “Microsoft Team” was restricted to users from the own Office 365 tenant. The only condition for a guest access is to use an Azure Active Directory account.
External users can be invited to an existing Microsoft Team. Using the Microsoft Teams app, guests can access content, documents or chats in public or private channels. It is also possible to use Office apps like SharePoint, Skype for Business or OneNote.
The collaboration solution Microsoft Teams is running on Windows, Android, Mac OS, and iOS, or can be run in a browser. Teams is available free of charge for all customers using Office 365 Business Essentials, Business Premium, as well as Enterprise E1, E3 or E5 plan.
