Further release of Microsoft PowerToys released
Microsoft has released a new preview for the PowerToys developed as open source project for Windows 10. Beside some bugfixes and improvements the release 0.12.0 extends the tools collection by another function called "PowerRename". With "PowerRename" the names of several files can be changed simultaneously in the Windows Explorer. The first PowerToys preview, first released on GitHub in September 2019, includes the FancyZones window manager and a shortcut guide for operating system commands.
The PowerToys were a free and popular collection of utilities in Windows 95 and Windows 98, primarily designed to simplify and streamline working with the Windows operating system. The collection was created by Microsoft programmers, but never officially supported by the company itself. The new PowerToys represent a modern addition to productivity tools for Windows 10 for the software company.
The new release - including source code - is available for download on GitHub.
