Azure Stack Generally Available
At the partner conference 'Inspire', Microsoft announced the general availability of Azure Stack. Azure Stack offers corporate customers the opportunity to use services and tools of the cloud platform Azure in their own datacenter. With this “on premise” version of Azure, the enterprises retain control over their datacenter, without having to give up the advantages, like scalability and efficient management of a public cloud solution. Because of a consistent self-service portal and the same set of tools in Azure and Azure Stack, even hybrid cloud scenarios can be implemented with a minimum effort for installation.
For the deployment of business-critical applications and DevOps processes, Azure Stack offers a complete cloud platform, that meets even the strongest compliance requirements, like the demand to store data in an own datacenter. A free, single-server trial version for developers, Azure Stack Development Kit (ASDK), is already available for download. Azure Stack itself will be available from September this year, as an integrated system (hardware + software), and can be purchased by the Microsoft partners Dell EMC, HPE or Lenovo. Later, systems by Huawei and Cisco will follow.
